Lunar's 2nd birthday

On February 3rd, I had my second birthday. Even though I had reached the grand old age of two, my daddy said I was still relatively brand new! I had a lovely day with lots of presents. I'm really into Peppa Pig right now and I had lots of Peppa Pig stuff including a lovely cake. Mmmm, delicious!
I really liked my Peppa Pig jewellery. Daddy said I looked like a punk. Whatever did he mean?!

Lunar becomes a big sister

On 15 January 2015, Nanny and Grand-dad took me to hospital to visit my mum. My dad was there too. Little did I know, my sister was there also!
My sister, Melody Jessie Taylor was born weighing 7 lbs and 1 oz. She was much heavier than when I was born, I only weighed 6 lbs and 6 oz. Everyone says she looks just like me - she must be beautiful!
I think me and my sister are going to have lots of fun. Daddy will have lots to blog about now. Mummy and daddy really are over the moon!

Lunar completes NT challenge #11 (goes on a really long bike ride)

A short while ago my Daddy got me a lovely 'small fry' cycling helmet but couldn't take me out cycling because my head was too small for this smallest of helmets. By October 2014, a couple of weeks on, my head now fitted snuggly into the helmet. Better yet, Daddy had got me a 'buff' (kinda like a head scarf) of my own to wear under my helmet and Mommy got me some mittens to keep my hands warm. Now there was nothing to stop daddy taking me out for a pedal!
I sat in a chair of my own behind Daddy and would tell him where to go. This was lots of fun and I liked it when daddy went over bumps. On my debut cycle we went all the way to Arrow Vale Lake. We cycled all the way around the lake and then cycled home. Aunty Kim cycled with us both and she was always out of puff.
On my first cycle we covered about 15k. I'm not sure if that was considered 'long distance', as my Daddy has cycled 100's of miles in one jaunt. However, this was a long ride for me - it's the furthest I had ever been! Daddy says I have now completed National Trust challenge #11 (go on a really long bike ride) and I'm not even 2 years old yet!

Lunar completes NT challenge #17 (sets up a snail race)

Friday 19 September 2014 was a groggy, wet day. Daddy and I took a walk and saw lots of big fat slugs on the pavement. This gave Daddy an idea. He suggested we look for snails in the back garden. It didn't take long before we had both spotted one.
Daddy disappeared for a second and then returned with some blue chalk. Moments later he had chalked out a race course. We were going to race our snails! My snail was the little one.
My snail took an early lead. It was very exciting watching them race. Daddy's snail was fat and slow.
Whoa just look at my snail go! Zoomy! My snail was definitely going to win!
Here was the moment of truth. My snail was first to cross the line! Daddy's snail had started to shift but it wasn't even close. Daddy said I had now completed another National Trust challenge - I had completed NT challenge #17 and set up a snail race.

Lunar completes NT challenge #9 (eats an apple straight from a tree)

This year (2014) my mummy and daddy have been growing all sorts of fruit in Doo Little gardens. They grew some cherry's, pears, tomato's, marrows and apples. Daddy said I had to find a big apple to complete one of my National Trust (NT) challenges - this wasn't too difficult...
One of our apple tree's in the garden had 2 apples left on it. Daddy said 'how d'ya like them apples?' I  smiled and plucked the biggest apple straight from the tree. The apple was mostly green with a splash of red too. It looked delicious.
I'm not quite sure what variety the apple was but daddy says it wasn't a cooking apple. It looked juicy and there were no maggot holes or anything. Now to take a bite...
Mmmm. Delicious! Perhaps not a Golden Delicious though.
It was such a big apple it took me ages to eat it. Some apple was eaten outside. Some apple was eaten inside. Daddy said I now have apples inside my insides.
On 9 September 2014, I completed the National Trust challenge #9 and ate an apple straight from a tree. Daddy says this was a big achievement, especially considering I am not even 2 years old. I have now successfully completed 3 NT challenges!

Lunar completes NT challenge #22 (explores inside a tree)

On the 29 Aug 2014, Daddy took me and Nanny for a walk over the fields in Studley. It was quite a windy day and a few drops of rain landed on my head. Daddy said I looked like Red Riding Hood.
We spotted a great big tree. It had acorns attached so it must have been a great Oak. I just had to get nearer and take a closer look.
Daddy said 'you don't get any nearer than inside'. So, inside I went and I had a great explore. This adventure completed my second National Trust challenge - explore inside a tree.

Lunar completes NT challenge #21 (picking blackberries)

Daddy saw the National Trust (NT) website had a 'thing' on it called '50 things to do before you're 11 & 3/4'. Before I could say 'over the moon', he had signed me up for it. If you want to take a look at the 50 challenges, please follow this link: 50 things...
Wild blackberries growing at the top of Doo Little drive
The first challenge I completed was challenge #21 'pick blackberries growing in the wild'. Daddy walked me to the top of our drive, armed me with a little pot and instructed me to pick.
Before long, I had filled my little pot with lots of fat delicious blackberries. I wasn't allowed to eat any until the pot was full. Once the pot was full, daddy made me wash them too.
Mmmm, they really were delicious. I think I am going to enjoy my challenges that lay ahead!
